The classic social game will alter how it delivers its non-fungible token push. However, it is still progressing with the blockchain project. In 2021, Habbo, a classical social web game, pivoted into the non-fungible tokens (NFTs) sector.
This happened two decades following its official launch as more online riff chat rooms. This pivot only pleased some Habboo supporters and the same situation with Neopets.
Habbo Game Ventures into NFTs
However, unlike Neopets, the firm is not dumping its non-fungible tokens. Instead, it intends to begin using different terms when referring to them.
On Tuesday, the social web game said it will change its jargon, doing away with the current ‘Habbo NFT’ phrasing and instead embracing the ‘Habbo Collectibles.’ Through a post, it revealed its intention to shift from jargon related to the blockchain industry.
The move by Habbo imitates that of numerous brands and firms that have changed how they refer to non-fungible token assets, with a majority using the term ‘digital collectibles.’ For instance, Reddit, an online messaging platform, uses the term ‘Collectible Avatars.’
Habbo Game Reveals Next Move
In its public communication, it attempts to avoid using non-fungible token jargon. Nevertheless, the firm claimed these kinds of changes will not occur instantly. According to the post, the firm revealed that, for now, it intends to leave the branding for its Discord server and Habbo NFT untouched.
The production of Habbo’s NFTs took place on the Ethereum mainnet. In addition, follow-up collections related to items such as digital furniture are produced on Immutable X, an Ethereum scaling network. Those owning the 11600 non-fungible token avatars acquire special access to Habbo X, a specialized Habbo Hotel server. The OpenSea marketplace secondary market prices begin at almost 0.18 ETH ($275).
