Token airdrops have become a common way of accumulating cryptocurrencies without spending money. Several crypto projects have been rewarding their users and contributors with tokens over the past few weeks.
Some people have been lucky to receive tokens worth millions. So, which are the projects distributing free tokens to users? Let’s find out.
Jito
Jito is a Solana-based decentralized finance platform. It launched JTO, its native token, on December 7. The protocol distributed free JTO tokens worth $230 million. If you interacted with Jito before the airdrop, go to jito.network to confirm eligibility. Note that you have 525 days to claim your JTO as of this writing.
Starknet
Are you using Ethereum scaling solution Starknet? Well, keep doing so to increase your chance of being eligible for a token airdrop, which the protocol announced earlier this month. Starknet has said it will soon airdrop 900 million STRK tokens to early users. However, the exact date of the airdrop has yet to be announced.
Blast
Popular NFT marketplace Blur is launching its Ethereum scaling network Blast. Although the project has been surrounded by controversies, this has not stopped crypto users from staking huge amounts of ETH, hoping to be eligible for the most-awaited airdrop.
Many anticipate that Blast’s token airdrop would be as massive as Blur’s. The NFT marketplace recently conducted its second edition of BLUR airdrop, with one NFT trader lucky enough to receive 22 million BLUR tokens worth $12.3 million at the time.
Jupiter
Besides Jito, Solana users are set to receive another airdrop from Jupiter, a well-known DeFi aggregator. Last month, the protocol said close to a million wallets were now eligible for the notable token airdrop. If you are a Jupiter user, connect your wallet to airdrop.jup.ag to check how many JUP will receive when the airdrop happens in January.
Portal
Portal, a Web3 gaming platform, announced at the end of November that it will launch a gaming token next year. To be eligible for the airdrop, you have to spread the word about the PORTAL airdrop on X, formerly Twitter. The points you earn during the campaign will determine the amount of tokens you will receive.
Frame
This is a new layer-2 network intended for NFT projects. Per the protocol’s announcement, anyone who has traded Ethereum NFTs over the past two years will be airdropped FRAME tokens. To check how many tokens you will receive, visit the Frame official website. The airdrop is set to occur on January 31, when the Frame mainnet launches.
Saga
This gaming platform is set to launch next month. The developers behind Saga have hinted at a potential token airdrop. Contributors of the project will be eligible for the first edition of the airdrop, while early users will receive tokens in the second edition. To be eligible for the airdrop, you must play and win games available on the Saga testnet.
Xai
Xai postponed its token airdrop from December 27 to early January. The layer-3 project says anyone owning two NFTs from collections created on Xai is eligible for the XAI token airdrop. Moreover, Sentry Key owners operating nodes on Xai will receive some tokens.
Solana Saga
If you have a Solana Saga Smartphone, then you automatically qualify for several airdrops. You can claim 30 million BONK tokens, 100,000 ACS tokens from Access Protocol, and 50 HXD tokens from Honeyland. Other Solana-based that have promised to reward Solana Saga owners with free tokens include Samoyedcoin, Solend, and Degens Factory.
Tensor
Top NFT marketplace on Solana, Tensor, announced a token airdrop months ago. The platform operates just like Blur, incentivizing NFT trading with points that make the traders eligible for token airdrops. The rising NFT activity on Solana is likely to push Tensor’s token price to high levels when it launches.
Are you already eligible for any of the token airdrops mentioned? Well, congratulations. If you are not eligible yet, you still have time to participate in projects like Saga and Xai to boost your chances of receiving free tokens in 2024.
