Donald Trump’s family has made a comeback in the NFT market with another collection. This time, it is the former first lady Melania Trump, who on Thursday launched Non-fungible tokens inspired by the United States Independence Day, which is celebrated on July 4.
Titled “The 1776,” Melania’s NFT collection is based on Solana. The digital art pieces feature American imagery, including pictures of landmarks such as Mount Rushmore and the Statue of Liberty. As of this writing, each of the 3,500 NFTs is selling for $50.
Where to Mint Melania’s NFTs
Melania’s NFTs can be bought from a website known as USA Collectibles. The former first lady’s Twitter handle retweeted the firm’s tweet about the ongoing sale on Thursday evening. USA Collectibles also offers an NFT collection dubbed “POTUS TRUMP”, which features former first lady and president’s photos.
Giant media house Fox News reported yesterday that Melania plans to channel a portion of the revenue generated to her “Fostering the Future” program, which focuses on nurturing children.
Over the last two years, the Trumps have been active in the NFT space, with Melanie being the first to launch a collection in late 2021. At the time, she partnered with Solana Labs, the company that founded one of the leading blockchains, Solana.
Donald Trump’s NFT Collections
Last year, the former first lady dropped more NFTs before her husband released his famous Polygon-based collection of 45,000 digital trading cards, each initially minted for $99.
Donald Trump’s NFTs holders were promised various perks, including a Zoom meeting and a dinner with him. Although the design of the NFTs was largely criticised, the collection sold out in less than 24 hours. The price of the digital trading cards would later peak at $1,000 on secondary NFT marketplaces. However, that figure has dropped to $185 as of this writing. To date, Donald Trump’s collection has generated $20.5 million in trading volume.
The former president released his second NFT project featuring 47,000 pieces in April. Similar to the first collection, each NFT was minted for $99. However, this price has declined by about 45%, according to data from NFT Price Floor. The cheapest piece is now selling for $54.
