CyberKongz intends to migrate its Play and Kollect NFT game from Polygon to Ronin. Additionally, there are ongoing plans for another Ronin game.
CyberKongz has expanded into a significant NFT franchise. So far, volumes worth $210 million have been traded in the biggest of the four collections.
CyberKongz Swaps Ethereum-Based Sidechain for Ronin and Axie Infinity
Currently, the creators intend to shift Play and Kollect, CyberKongz NFT Minting game, from an Ethereum sidechain to another, which in this case is from Polygon to Ronin. Ronin is a platform developed by Sky Mavis, a developer at Axie Infinity.
This week, the Kongz team is also unveiling Genkai, another NFT collection inspired by anime, across Ronin and the Ethereum mainnet. Additionally, plans are in place for another game. Via Decrypt, a Sky Mavis representative divulged that a concrete timeline is not in place for the planned shift from Polygon to Ronin.
CyberKongz Partners with Ronin to Develop Game Featuring Genkai
Myoo, CyberKongz’s founder and artist, Via a statement, revealed that Genkai is the initial non-pixel artwork developed for CyberKongz. This work will portray the firm’s growth as an initiative to enhance its IP in the Japanese and Southeast Asian markets. CyberKongz will also partner with Ronin to create a game that features Genkai.
Since Ronin is presently a private/permissioned blockchain, the Genkai mint is the first non-Axie Infinity drop to happen through this blockchain. This move occurred months after Sky Mavis announced that it is partnering with four games studios and The Machine Arena’s creators to develop Ronin’s gaming ecosystem.
Via an interview, Kathleen Osgood, the Director of Business Development at Sky Mavis, divulged that CyberKongz is one of Web3’s greatest IPs. She also claimed the game studio partners with all gaming partners brought onto the Ronin platform.
Kongz Council Member Attributes Community Link to Axie
A major point of consideration concerns the reason behind the pixelated ape’s creators choosing Axie’s chain. Henry the Grape, a pseudonymous Kongz council member, disclosed that a community link between CyberKongz holders and Axie fans has existed for some time.
The link originated from the Axie community. Thus, in case an opportunity came with Ronin to have the capacity to keep establishing the ecosystem on Ronin, there was nothing much to think about.
Genkai Minting Nonfugible Tokens, Ethereum NFT Holders to Shift to Ronin
The Genkai mint is going to span a total of 20000 NFTs. In this case, 16000 will be created on the Ethereum mainnet, while the rest will be built on Ronin. In the future, holders of Ethereum NFT will acquire the choice to shift their Genkai NFTs to Ronin.
Starting July 27, the pricing of the Ethereum public mint per Genkai NFT will be 0.25 ETH (nearly 460 dollars). Additionally, as part of the partnership with Sky Mavis, all Mystic Axie NFT holders will receive free Genkai NFTs as a reward from the Axie Infinity developer.
Kongs Confirm Inclusion of Comic Books and Animated Series
Ryan S. Gladwin reveals how The Machine Arena appears from the inside. This forthcoming top-down 4v4 shooter from Directive Games will provide NFTs minted on Ronin, an Ethereum sidechain platform.
When questioned concerning the plans revolving around Kongz, Henry claimed comic books and an animated series are included in the vision. However, he was unwilling to share much information. He added that they have realized that by revealing too much information at the start, people will likely lose interest or pass judgment. Henry also claimed that much could change.
The migration to Ronin warrants a cautionary approach considering that the Ethereum NFT were tested on their market viability and acceptance. The success realized in the test stage mandates pursuing the shift to Ronin an exploratory quest that will also test the product viability.
