Ben has taken legal action against those who expelled him from his media brand and its parent firm Hit Network. Ben Armstrong, a YouTuber previously referred to as ‘BitBoy,’ has filed a complaint in Georgia against two Hit workers.
He identifies Timothy ‘TJ’ Shedd Jr. whose serves as the Hit Network’s chief executive officer and father Timothy Shedd Sr. The two are accused of removing him from the media firm he established in 2018.
Armstrong Pursues Legal Action Against Hit Network
BJ Investment Holdings (BJIH) is a corporate entity mentioned in the lawsuit as a petitioner along with Armstrong. Also, TJSC Holdings is named as a respondent with the Shedds.
In an August 30 filing the lawsuit shows Armstrong is the media firm BJIH’s majority shareholder. Presently, BJIH is Hit Network’s parent firm as well as the parent company of the YouTube channel previously called Bitboy Crypto. In particular, Better Than TJ LLC (BTTJ),
Armstrong’s wholly-owned entity controls 67% of BJIH shares. TJSJ possesses 33%, which results in the plaintiffs believing that the firm was unlawfully taken away from Armstrong.
According to a Hit Network worker, Armstrong withdrew that previous lawsuit. When contacted, Armstrong confessed the withdrawal of the August 30 lawsuit. However, he added that as of September 12, he will resubmit the filing.
The report indicates that Shedds was accused of scheming to steal the firm from Armstrong some months back. The situation resulted in Armstrong being unlawfully locked out of several social media and email accounts.
Additionally, Shedds has been accused of misusing, redirecting, wasting, and changing Armstrong’s firm’s possessions and funds for individual gain. The suit also asserts fraud, with Shedds being accused of acting or planning to act unlawfully or deceitfully. It also shows that the firm generates an estimated $1M in ad revenue monthly.
Commenting on this Armstrong wants a sanction, an award of damages, and the return of control of the parent firm alongside its various email, financial, and social media accounts. The lawsuit also asks for copies of BJIH’s financial records as well as the suit’s total cost to be paid by the respondents.
BitBoy Cut Ties with Hit Network
According to a copy of the termination letter received by Armstrong on August 25, he is accused of physically assaulting and orally abusing TJ Shedds as well as other workers, with the most recent incidents being on August 21.
Further, this letter claims he was under the influence of illicit steroids, substances, and abusive medications. He also threatened and verbally and physically abused the rest of the workers.
An earlier acquired voice call recording reveals Armstrong admitting to using steroids. However, he claimed that assertions concerning the use of hard drugs, for instance, cocaine, were ‘factually false.’ In this recording, Armstrong admitted that he threatened to assault TJ but refuted the occurrence of physical abuse.
The filing by Armstrong fails to disprove or address the drug or assault assertions directly. However, it considers the termination letter and an additional document utilized to remove him and BTTJ from the parent firm unlawful, useless, and void. This is because BTTJ holds most of the shares in the parent firm.
On August 31, Armstrong disclosed a video with his spouse asking for forgiveness from fans. He claimed that he was facing hard times and also had an affair. Additionally, he denied allegations concerning the abuse of hard drugs and the use of steroids.
In spite of Armstrong’s filing, the Bitboy Crypto YouTube channel was revamped to ‘Discovery Crypto.’ Shedd and the Hit Network created a video to publicize the initiative. Immediately, the the comments section was full of replies backing Armstrong and criticizing the decision to exclude him from the firm.
The case portrays a sudden twist for a crypto enthusiast who helped build a brand that now is distancing itself from his activities. Also, it is worthwhile to follow the development on whether BitBoy would receive any compensation from the company he helped build.
